About Tradewind

Tradewind is a suite of services designed to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence/machine learning, digital, and data analytics solutions throughout the Department of Defense. A core pillar of Tradewind is the Tradewind Ecosystem where Industry, Academia, and other innovators can connect the Government, and identify contracting opportunities. In October 2022, Tradewind will launch the Tradewind Solutions Marketplace, a ground-breaking digital repository of post-competition, readily-awardable pitch videos, which address the Government’s greatest challenges in the AI/ML, digital, and data analytics space.

How we Operate

Tradewind simplifies the acquisition of AI related products, services, and technologies by offering Industry a lean operating model that moves at the speed of commercial incubators and accelerators with three (3) major components:

A managed service / program that interfaces with the Department of Defense to understand AI needs and problems and challenges that can potentially be solved by AI.

 

A $4 billion Other Transactional Agreement (OTA) funding vehicle that allows DoD to simply and accelerate the acquisition and transition of AI capabilities to meet challenges and objectives.

 

An online marketplace that allows JAIC to broadcast and manage AI opportunities to industry and interface with an ecosystem of partners and companies that can delivery AI technologies and capability.

What is the difference between the Tradewind Ecosystem and the Tradewind Solutions Marketplace?
The Tradewind Ecosystem is where industry, academia, and individual innovators can identify the Government’s latest Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data, and digital analytics contracting opportunities. The ecosystem allows you to bid for that potential business.

The Tradewind Solutions Marketplace is a digital repository of video solutions. Industry, academic and individual innovators can upload videos, which highlight their specific solution for the Government’s AI/ML, data and digital analytics problem sets. Once accepted into the Marketplace, solutions are readily-awardable through multiple contracting pathways.

Does it cost anything to join the Tradewind Ecosystem?
No.  The Tradewind Ecosystem is an open platform and free for Industry.

Q.

Do I have to be familiar with the Federal Government acquisition processes to participate in Tradewind challenges and opportunities?
Having a general knowledge of Federal processes is helpful, but no you don't need to have any knowledge to propose and deliver AI solutions.

Q.

If we are selected to solve an AI challenge or opportunities how long does it take to get funding?
Typically, after an organization has been selected, funding is put on contract within 30-45 days.
